Advance Oxidation Process (AOPs) can potentially become a future technology for textile wastewater treatment, especially to neutralize color and odor more effectively and efficiently. It uses Hydroxyl radicals to destroy chemical bonds in organic coloring materials, or substances that cause odor.
In pilot scale trials, AOP is proven to reduce color to 80% for batik wastewater within 5 hours; and 91% for money-printing wastewater within 7 hours.
