Proses analisis sampel darah untuk keperluan diagnosa biasanya memerlukan waktu yang lama, mahal, membutuhkan sumber listrik, serta sampel darah yang cukup banyak. Inovasi ini menggunakan sehelai benang katun untuk menganalisis sampel darah dalam waktu 30 detik dengan jumlah darah analit hanya 1-3 µL. Inovasi ini cocok digunakan di daerah terpencil, karena prosedur analisisnya sederhana dan tidak membutuhkan sumber listrik.
